(Mid Year Checkin Thread) Hows your 2021 So far?
-
Tell the Vork how youre doing
-
@petravork started off slow but my year is getting pretty good. I started drivers ed and next month ima start working
-
Pretty good, except for school. I loathe for last year when I didn’t have to do anything. I do like being social though, and now that it’s warm out it’s nice. Sports has been bad, first day of the year Clemson lost a playoff game and then all downhill from there. But that’s ok, because I joined here
-
i used to not like school but once i hit around 6th grade i started to love it and highschool is the best
-
@petravork school kinda annoying otherwise it’s been good
-
If I’m being honest, kinda awful. My family issues have just gotten worse and it has had a negative effect on my mental health. Focusing on college because of that has been difficult to say the least.
I have lost like 20 pounds though so that’s good
-
Had a colonoscopy last week, so that blew. Got the results and apparently I'm "fine" even though I've had a ton of issues with colitis and bleeding.
So back to the drawing board on that one.
-
Has been pretty mid . In a way that's good , working on online courses that will help my job prospects ahead. Hope to complete those by the end of this year.
-
Better than 2020 for sure

Hello fellow bowel-challenged friend! I hope all ends well with you. If you'd ever like to talk, shoot me a DM - I have Crohn's, I think it's basically the same as Colitis

Dear MR VORK,
My 2021 has been quite nice. I graduated from college which is, as our BROKEN friend would say, WONDERFUL
I've seen the boys much more than in the last 3/4 of 2020 with restrictions slowly but surely being lifted. Even tho literally all of my friends are moving away, I think I'll be okay in the end. I'm gonna commit myself to keeping in better touch with them than I have in the past since we will all be separated, scattered across the country
This is the longest period of time I've been single in 2 years but I am making the most of the bachelor life. I think I will have a HOT BOY SUMMER of my own
I'm excited to live it up this summer on one last trip with the boys + hanging with family + relaxing before I start work and join the real world. It sounds daunting as fuck, but I love a good challenge
One day soon we must search for the LASERS together at Katz's

Take care my man.

the start of the year was just hell for me w/ all this drama and shit going on, and now i have a test today which will be more hell, i'm just waiting for summer to start now
-
Shitty thing is (haha) my gastro has ruled out anything like UC or Crohn's after the colo, so I'm kind of back to square one after shitting my brains out.
The next step seems to be seeing if it's autoimmune, since I already have issues with that and a family history.
Woooooo. Lol.

I was able to hug and kiss my grandma on the cheek the other day for the first time in over a year so I'd say it's going pretty well. Looking forward to memorial day weekend, gonna take a day trip to marthas vineyard. Fully vaccinated and glad to not have to wear a mask.
-
For me, kinda tough. My grandma passed this year (with whom I was quite close), moved out of college this year to a residence where I find it hard to relate to a lot of people there (am the youngest in the residence by 10 years), plus my city is probably about to go into lockdown until I finish exams
That said, not gonna say I have it really tough, as they're always a few positives. Keeping healthy through going to gym and running whenever I can, plus am keeping contact with a girl I think I have a solid connection with as many days as I can (successful so far). Hopefully that connection can be maintained throughout the potential lockdown that might be coming up. Have kept up a great relationship with the fam throughout all of COVID too, one thing I'm glad the pandemic has done for me
