Hey y’all, thought I’d make a quick post on here; I don’t see a lot of people doing this which is pretty useful, at least in my experience

I would advise everyone to switch the side the screener screens at times

say, your opponent is doing full court press and they’re manually moving the ball handler defender into/over the screen so he can stick to you… press L3 (push into the left stick) and it’ll switch the side the screener screens… that way, the guy goes the opposite direction and you’re off to the races

The guy might try to catch up, but your screener will actually set the screen now because it’s on that side

This also works well on regular PnR in the half court,

Say your opponent is playing really tight and trying to bait you to the middle… switch the side of the screen, you’ll probably have an open 3, pull up for a middy, or the corner defender will help and you pass for a 3 or a cut

Now, I wouldn’t do this all the time, but say your opponent is trying to manually move his ball handler way before you even start moving, try it out, keep your opponent guessing and honest, that way your opponent can’t be controlling your offense

Edit : you can also slip the screen more, say you call the screen on a full court press, slip the screen and the screener will run to the rim freely… also in the halfcourt too if the opponent is off balling with the center , have them slip on the roll/fade

Nice! What about slipping the screen as the defender…because that’s where the most problems are.
