I’ve said before that Ja is having a great season and is probably in the top point guards so far, HOWEVER, if you swapped just Luka and Ja, the Grizzles would be better and the Mavs would be worse.

Ja all the way. Not just the talent. Great attitude — and he lifts his teammates, making them all better. Luka wastes his prodigious talent by not being in shape, whining at referees, and too often settling for bad long-range threes.

Teammates can adapt better
Luka always at same tempo and KP decrease his game a lot along him .
Luka has one more season in the NBA
Curious to see JA level next year -
Ja has a much better supporting cast than Luka.

But KP decrease his game along Luka -
KP has never played a full season. You can’t be a franchise player playing 60% of the time.
JJJ is better than KP, Dwight Powell, and Maxi Kleber.
Desmond Bane is better than Brunson.
Dillon Brooks is better than DFS. -

Luka teammates shot historic % from 3 against the clippers last year . They closed a lot of games for him
Luka is amazing, but out of shape , and play always slow , isn’t able to figure out a way to involve more KP too
Memphis already did well last year , and this year Ja showed up tremendously against huge teams -
Athleticism isn’t that important in the modern NBA, don’t have to play fast to be good. Look at Jokic.

I guess people forgetting Luka has done some crazy shit in his few years in the league. One of the best starts of a career that we've ever seen. Ja is great and I admit Luka should stop complaining so much and focus on playing through contact but the talent difference is obvious

@rodsquad You being blinded by recency bias. Luka nearly taking down Kawhi's Clips with KP missing a lot of time whole putting up those numbers, DAMN. Show me Ja's first team All-Nba lol. Ja playing better right now and is extremely likeable but give me Luka if I'm starting a franchise no question

@rodsquad He's pretty much a lock for playoffs so we'll see how he performs there but he doesn't have an All-NBA 1st to his name so you can't really say they've accomplished the same accolades in the same time.
And @pedronqneves I've seen you downplay Luka since he was fucking up the Clippers so your dislike of him is already known. He's doing everything for this Mavs team so the efficiency being down is a given

This year Ja been better than Luka, Luka been pretty dog shit this year. However, years prior this would been no debate.
It feels like people jumping ships over very quickly.
And Ja haven't done shit in playoffs yet, so it's one of those cases when people ridding that new hot train.
Ja deffo deserves all the praise, but it feels like dudes gonna forget you in no time if you ain't that good even if it's less than half season of bad play (for Luka's standarts)
And don't get me wrong the hype for Luka was wild. Dudes had him as best nba player and some shit I bet same people don't even have him top 10 anymore lol.

@pedronqneves i aint even tryna hear that KP was an all star shit. KP had young player hype on a barely respectable Knicks team that year before his injury and he was still inefficient that time too. I love KP but he's a 3rd option on a championship squad. This year he been alot better actually gettin in the post and cutting but he was just a spot up shooter last year and before.
