Miss you Mamba

2 years ago today my life changed. I learned to appreciate greatness in the moment. Nothing is forever. I’ll always know where I got my work ethic from. My big brother
-
RIP Kobe, I have always been mad at myself for not appreciating Kobe’s greatness. I was always a bit of a Kobe hater. Of course I never got to see him in his prime as I am 15, but he was still great. After his death I was so sad, especially because I never got the chance to appreciate him while I could.

a lot has changed for the worse since this day… we miss you kobe

Kobe is forever a legend and a beast, rip mamba
-
Kobe will forever be the reason why I love basketball.

That was for sure shocking when the news broke. The time that passes after people pass away is creepy to me. Can’t believe it has been two years. I have a couple friends that passed years back and a couple dogs…dogs are like family to me. Every time it hits the anniversary it is just too weird thinking about how time keeps going without them.

1996-2016: MAAAAYNE FUCK KOBE
2016-2020: love this guy and his future as a contributor
Jan 2020: NOOOOOOOOOAs a rockets fan and tmac stan I was a big ol Kobe hater. Called him a ball hog etc. but it’s bc he was so damn good.
As soon as he retired and was no longer sausaging my team year in year out, I appreciated him for his contribution to the game and his greatness.
Then he died and I honestly felt so sad, not just because he was gone but because I really felt like he just started getting to live after giving his everything to the game for 20+ years. He finally got to relax and be a dad and it was just taken in an instant.
Moral of the story: don’t use a fucking helicopter

Kobe’s final game is still one of the most movie like, surreal things I’ve ever witnessed live. The shit was so perfect it look scripted. I just remember feeling like “
Damn, Kobe is really done with the game.” One of those you don’t know what you got til it’s gone moments. RIP to Kobe, Gigi, and everyone who lost their lives that day. -

I accidently stumbled on the coroner's reports after viewing some of the YouTube accident recreation videos. Not a great way to start the day.
Never fly in a helicopter! It can go bad so fast. Hopefully the passengers didn't know what was happening. Also fuck that unqualified pilot who should never have been near VIPs.

This makes me so sad man. Just last week I was thinking about how it's already been 2 years since we lost a legend and how I was surprised at how often I'm still reminded of the Mamba when I watch basketball

When he scored 60 in his final game I was like, “Why was I hating on Kobe in the first place? He’s a legend of our game,” so I shifted from hating on guys who “opposed” LeBron but rather appreciate and respect their game.
I will never forget hearing the news that Kobe died and I’m still sad to this day about his death.
RIP Kobe, Gigi, and the other victims from this tragedy.

This is me for sure

I didn't like Kobe because he was a Laker but I always appreciated his game and enjoyed him more towards the end when Boston/LA weren't a threat to each other.

Me and my family just got to a court when we saw the news, whole park just shut down while everyone tried to figure out what happened. When it was confirmed you could see grown men crying out there, it was one of the most surreal moments of my life.
RIP Kobe
