Luka 42 and Brunson 31 < Curry 32 and Looney 21 and 12Off topic, but this is shaping up to be a “ring” Steph would really need for his résumé. For years the common thing with Steph was that he was a phenomenal player and easily Top 3-5 since 2015, but he won under very favorable circumstances (2015 Finals, 2017 Finals, 2018 Finals (this was the one where they were the overwhelming favorite). You can’t really make an argument he won a title when it was balanced or he was the underdog (2015 maybe but yeah…). This is what always held Steph back for me.
That will change if he manages to pull off a ring this season playing really well at the age of 33 (I’m telling you there’s something with 33) and he wins in a more balanced finals series without such favorable odds. If Steph wins I’ll be giving his props, he deserved it at that point.
Dallas needs to tie this series 2-2 or I think the series is over.

L respect him

@shinostique yep its a ring at the end of the day no matter if the whole other team is injured or a superteam or not but for gsw to win this is pretty fair for them
-
Mavs inside the court is just stupid .
It’s dangerous -

Yeah, I agree. This would be a huge ring for his legacy. And he'd be Top 10 all-time with it. Solidly.
-
@quantumkat better than Magic all time if he wins a Finals MVP with a ring
-
@quantumkat i agree would make him top 10 but based a lot on his he 4 rings .
People can’t be here praising players to win rings against injured teams ( Lebron and Giannis ) with super teams ( Lebron )
And try to take value out of Steph ringsBtw Kawhi too
-
@sg24 no way

I agree.

Steph definitely not top 10 yet even if he gets the ring
And not better than magic either. If he gets a ring this year I’d be generous and say they’re tied all time

Lebron too
-
@rodsquad if he gets a ring he will have 4 with 2 mvp
2 scoring tittles
All of this in the era of mobility without changing teams -
First time Curry would win without playing with another top 10 player, would make him better than LeHelp. Not happening tho because Boston is winning

@508 if we beat mavs I really don’t know if we can beat the Celtics unless they choke mentally with the moment .
So I’m hoping Miami can beat them

Celtics would be terrible for us. I have no confidence against them. None.
-
@quantumkat Warriors scare me too. Curry and Klay still goated and they've done it already. Would be a fun series but we'll see what happens
-
@508 Celtics with a lot talent wings , size , the best team switching on D too
The only pro for us is the experience -
Glad someone finally said it… The absolute worst fan base in all of sports.
-
@hollygrovemikey Lebron fans are worse
-
@508 Battle of the toxic fan bases in the finals.
Warriors vs. Celtics… Someone is going to get shot at one of these games -

All this guys won rings I. Really favorable circumstancesEh not really.
So you’re saying any of LeBron’s finals (he won) series was as favorable as any one of Steph’s?
It’s true LeBron did win in a series he was favored to win (2013 and I’m assuming 2020), but he’s also won when he wasn’t favored (2012 and 2016). Steph really hasn’t had a trial like what we’ve seen from the greats (2015 should’ve been that but unfortunately injuries said otherwise).
What you can do however is that both lost in favorable circumstances at one point (2011 for LeBron and 2016 for Steph) and they should be blamed for that.
This goes back to my original point that sure every great has won under favorable circumstances (including MJ), the problem with Steph’s “legacy” is that well he’s only won under very favorable circumstances. He won in 2015 due to star players being injured on the opposing team (this happened to his own team in 2019), 2017 was more “balanced” but the Dubs were too OP because of Steph, KD, Klay, and Draymond in their primes, and 2018 was well…yeah.
These three examples Pedro are why folks are “skeptical” (if that’s the right word) on Steph’s legacy. On paper his résumé looks really good and someone who should’ve been Top 10 already of all time. But once you dive deeper, you’re wondering “Okay where’s the challenge?”
You might think this is unfair Pedro (which I do too) but these are the standards when you want to place a guy Top 10 of all time.
I remember when LeBron won in 2012 and people say, “Okay good one, but can you repeat?” Then 2013 happened and people said, “Oh he got bailed by Ray Allen” when people forget he was a big reason the Heat were even in Game 6 and hit a huge game winner in Game 7 with a great performance. It was 2016 when finally people realized “Okay he’s Top 3.”
My point here with LeBron, is that all it takes is to win a good or legendary ring for folks to “validate” your other rings. Once it happens folks will start giving more “props” to your guy @QuantumKat @pedronqneves
But as Kobe once said, “The Job’s not finished.” I’m looking forward to both series and see what the outcomes are.

@pedronqneves Hell no. It’s not the Bron fans. It’s the Jordan fans that won’t to diminish the greatness of Lebron. The same for the Curry and KD fans.
-
@shinostique this was well written, but will fly right over @pedronqneves head like an air plane.

Tbf, LeBron Stans can be pretty bad. But I wonder if they’re really more of a “Jordan Hater” than a LeBron fan

Damn did Joel Anthony call Silver and say, “Give me back the rings LeBron stole from me.”
-
@shinostique Lebron won 2 in Miami with a super team
2016 , Iggy and Steph played with pain , bogut out , Dray suspension .
2020 , Miami in the finals leading with injuriesSame for Giannis last year , the list goes on specially last editions .there is always something , but to take advantage you need to go on the floor and win . Steph got draft to a franchise that was in property , Dray and klay drafted
A ring coming from something organic is incredible ( bucks last year ) despite injuries
Wining another one is obviously an crazy plus for him , he would have the same as Lebron without even Moving from his team and when things had gone wrong -
@pedronqneves and where was the challenge ?
You know how many games GSW won when he was drafted there ? He completely change the game and was a central piece to turn a trash team into the one that holds the best record ever -
!nba claim
-
Your claim for 1 bets was successful. Your record for this claim was 1 and 0 with a total payout of 3,860 MT and a total profit of 1,072 MT
-
@pedronqneves organic? The Warriors have had 3 Finals MVP’s and all 3 were acquired in free agency. Iguodala and Kevin Durant.
Team accolades…(tying in rings) will not move Curry into Lebron territory. Individually Curry has never made a defensive team, no finals MVP’s, not enough points or record broken, not enough individual dominance over basketball. Now maybe if he gets to 5 or 6 rings. Some will compare, but Lebron’s already cemented his legacy. Their really isn’t even an argument.
-
@pedronqneves and you say this like Lebron wasn’t drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers and took that trash team to the finals. Curry actually had great talent around him at every point of his career. Y’all gotta stop overrating. He’s a 6ft guard. No one his size will ever dominate the game of basketball. It’s just not happening, but he was damn close to it in 2015 and 2016. Until people realized he isn’t the same player in playoffs/ finals as regular season.
-
@Sssnaps take notes from your idol
-
@hollygrovemikey if you are trying to say GSW team wasn’t build organically I don’t know what to tell you lmao
-
@hollygrovemikey steph make everyone better
It’s more than proven
Don’t fool yourself
Look at Lebron missing playoffs with 2 top 75 players on his team lmaoYou know Steph playoff wins , and stats right ? That is just a myth created by skip lol
Steph is at least top 10 in total points in the finals
-
Pedro when he sees something about Steph that he doesn’t like

Lebron came back 3-1 against one of the best teams of all time. You could’ve just said that.
“Iggy and Steph played with pain”
