@ogxsuave Also why we're in the conversation of badges with @jdealla - dont think previous champions should be taken off just because they lost the most recent tourney. Think anyone who ever wins a tourney deserves to have the champion badge forever.
Maybe you can have a distinction with current champion, number of championships, etc. on 2KU 2.0 tho.

Lol that defeats the purpose of the champion lol maybe just a list of recent champions in 2.0 I’m guessing

@OGxSuave @12th I mean i was just going off the idea in IRL sports of "once a champion, always a champion" lol.
Think its a good way to recognize the past tourney winners and I also mentioned a potential current champion badge distinction to recognize the most recent one as well.
I'm cool with w.e tho if people feel it should just stay the way it is

@jdrflip yea tournaments wins will be listed under achievements in 2.0 - they may or may not have a badge attached to them depending on the tournament. but the badge itself would likely be temporary.
I haven't fully developed the concept but I do know that tournament wins won't earn anyone a permanent badge.

on a side note, tournaments will be a 1st class feature in 2.0 at some point and will be integrated into other features (at least that's the idea). for example, you'd be able to bet your 2KU MT on tournament games (e.g. I could bet on the PS5 God Squad finals even tho I'm not playing).
I realize that they drive a lot of engagement and people seem to be into them.
