With the 1st pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, the Orlando Magic select… Paolo Banchero.
PF, Duke University.
Banchero provides the Orlando Magic with a lethal scorer at the 4, something they haven’t had consistently since Hedo Turkoglu in the mid-late 2000s. Banchero is the most NBA-ready prospect and is sure to be the cornerstone of the franchise for years to come.
The OKC Thunder are on the clock. All yours @Shinostique

With the 2nd Pick of the NBA Draft, the Oklahoma City Thunder select…
Chet Holmgren
Reason:
Chet brings versatility (shooting and defense) and defense that’s much needed for OKC’s frontcourt. In addition, there’s room for him to grow as a player in the future for OKC. However, most likely he’ll have to play as the 4 for now.
@errolzzz you’re next
-
With the third pick of the nba draft the houston rockets select... JABARI SMITH
PF Auburn
REASONS:
Jabari is a talented power forward that the rockets could use in their rebuilding he is an elite three point shooter who shot 42% which will translate to the nba he is a athletic big man who can guard most positions and can rebound well the rockets should draft him and part ways with Christian WOOD
@ND13 is next

Just 8 more spots until Ivey falls down
-
With the fourth pick of the nba draft, the Sacramento Kings select… Shaedon Sharpe
SG, Kentucky
Standing 6 foot 6 with a 7 foot wingspan and a 49 inch vertical (highest in nba history). Averaged 22.6 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.7 assists in the 2021 Nike Elite Youth Basketball League and led the event in points scored and finished in the top five in 3-pointers made.
I think he has a higher ceiling than Jaden Ivey and is also a better fit next to Deaaron Fox. He projects to be a good defender with his very long arms and lateral quickness. And he has a good shooting form with insane athleticism.

Interesting pick..
With the 5th pick of the 2022 NBA Draft, the Detroit Pistons select Jaden Ivey
After a rough first year at Purdue, Ivey returned to college and had a breakout sophomore year. He showed his ability to finish hard at the rim, where he’ll shine next to Detroit’s Cunningham. Ivey also improved his 3-point shooting, going from 25% as a freshman to 35% his sophomore year. Overall, Ivey’s prowess as a combo guard should fit Detroit’s timeline like a glove.
Sorry @zackdesenfants. Your move.
-
-
With the 6th pick… the Indiana Pacers select… Keegan Murray, PF from Iowa.
Murray took a big sophomore jump at Iowa, averaging 23&8 and 40% from 3. He’s a very good all-around player that projects to be an instant contributor, and has room left to grow. The Pacers add a scoring wing to pair with Tyrese Halliburton and Chris Duarte.
@YOSEMITE_HAM is next with the Blazers.
-
With the 7th pick in the 2022 NBA draft the Portland Trail Blazers select Dyson Daniels out of GLI.
Portland is in a weird place as a franchise rn. They need to lean into a full on rebuild but that is contradictive to keeping Dame on the roster.
Daniels checks both boxes of a homerun swing and a pick for fit. Measured in at 6'8 in shoes at the combine he's a huge combo guard with great playmaking and defensive upside. I see him as a compliment to both Dame and Anfernee so whether they try to stay competetive with Dame or start over by trading him to open up a rebuild with both Anfernee and Dyson this pick is a great fit for both scenarios
Right back to you @zackdesenfants
-
With the 8th pick the, the New Orleans Pelicans select Bennedict Mathurin, forward from Arizona.
Mathurin is a very good 3-level scorer and blossoming defender. Another prospect that took a sophomore leap. Mathurin is also a dynamic athlete and can provide a perimeter boost for the Pelicans now and in the future.
-
@zackdesenfants remember you got back to back

With the 9th pick… the San Antonio Spurs select… Jeremy Sochan, forward from Baylor.
Sochan has a an edge to this game. He’s a very good and smart defender. He can guard 1-4, maybe 5. He brings a lot of energy, and has offensive potential. He would be a perfect forward for the Spurs to develop.

@cwiehebrink_04 you’re next with the 10th pick

@DC80
Good pick. Ivey and Cade would be disgusting. I could also see them passing on Brunson if they draft a guard. I'm not against putting that money into somewhere else. I want to see Grant traded too. -

Not sure if you saw this in your notis but it’s your turn to pick
-
@shinostique should we move on and make the Wiz pick?
-
@shinostique I’ll pick for the wizards if you want. Have a great idea at #10

Sorry for the late response to both of you, but I’m down to move on, let’s give him until 7:20pm ET (which is 30 mins from now), if we don’t hear a response from @cwiehebrink_04 then let’s pick somebody for the Wizards pick.
Then @errolzzz can pick for the Knicks followed by me picking for OKC.
I’m cool with @mattpoz picking for the Wizards or @YOSEMITE_HAM picking. You two can decide on that if we hear nothing by 7:20pm ET
-
@YOSEMITE_HAM mind if I take this one? Got a lot of wizards fans that I know over here that have been talking about drafting this player
-
@mattpoz do it then he taking way too long now

I’m cool with this, you can make the Wizards pick
-
With the 10th pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, the Washington Wizards select… AJ Griffin. SF, Duke University.
Griffin possesses a spectacular well-rounded set of skills that perfectly fits a rebuilding Washington Wizards squad. The fact that he’s a former Blue Devil only furthers his experience at this stage of his career and will be a snag if he falls to #10 IRL.
@errolzzz all yours

With the 11th pick in the nba draft the New York Knicks select... JOHNNY DAVIS
Now this might be a questionable pick for alot of ppl but what the knicks needed was a big man and a guard mitchell robinson will be a free agent and its better for the knicks to pay him instead of losing him and drafting another big to develop for the guard spot the knicks need to get jalen brunson funny enough his dad got a job with the knicks lol johnny davis showed in college he could be a great scorer and as a 6"5 guard a terrific rebounder he will fit perfectly as the knicks will try to trade off evan fournier

Damn this is a tough pick, but I’m gonna make my selection within 10 mins
-
So this pick I’m about to make is arguably the toughest in the draft because there are still good options which I wouldn’t be surprised if many are wrong about this pick because of this. I flip flop with this pick all the time. I’m actually cool with what we do with this pick since there’s no “clear option.” Presti can go a multitude of directions with this pick.
So with the recent rumors that OKC is interested in Sochan and now in Sharpe (apparently Sharpe’s camp has us as his top destination) I think Im getting a sense of what we’re looking for here.
This means I don’t think we’re going for a big man here (Duren might change that but I’m not sure).
Therefore, without the possibility of trading up. To me out of these 3 or more options, there is no wrong pick to go with (Duren, Branham, Eason, Dieng, and more) and without the possibility of trading up, the player I’m going for is…
Tari Eason
This is more of a placeholder pick for me.
When I watch Eason’s defensive highlights, I see a guy who could be an All-Defensive Team caliber guy, who in addition could be a solid 3 ball shooter and a reliable FT shooter. But he’s probably the “Well if we can’t get Sochan here’s another defensive wing.” His shooting could be a question mark but I’m not as concerned about his defense.
I know Thunder fans want us to pick Duren or Williams (because they are obsessed with picking a big man) but with the recent developments I just mentioned, I don’t think Presti is going for a “big” here.
Then there’s also Branham. This one is tough for me to pass on, I really like the idea of adding a shooter/another bucket getter next to Tre off the bench. And with Presti looking at Sharpe supposedly, I think he’s thinking the same thing. In fact, had we been allowed to trade in this mock draft, I would actually be trying to trade from 30 to as high as 19 to try to pair TyTy (which would make this Eason selection way more sense).
Then there’s Dieng, the popular pick you see here. I like the idea of Dieng don’t get me wrong, but with us having the #2 and SGA’s timeline, I’m not sure he’s the right pick here.
So that’s my pick for now.
@jdealla you’re next , and @dznasty follows after that and then Jdealla picks again.
-
Oh goddamnit, I’d pencilled in Eason
-
-
with the 13th pick, the Charlotte Hornets select:
Ochai Agbaji from Kansas University
Agbaji would add depth as a wing to a young Hornets team that is still hoping to resign Miles Bridges and saw Gordon Hayward miss almost 50% of games last season.
some of Agbaji's weaknesses (e.g. playmaking) would be compensated for by others on the roster and his 3pt shooting getting better each year at Kansas (hitting ~40% his Sr. year) is an example of the huge upside the organization sees in his potential.
-
@dznasty you're up and you can't draft LeBron or Bronny

With the 14th pick in the nba draft the Cleveland Cavaliers select Jalen Williams, 6'6" SF from Santa Clara.
The Cavs offense was terrible after the all-star break. Cavaliers need scoring, shooting, and a little bit of playmaking at the wing to help Garland. Williams is not the best defender but has a 7'2' wingspan and should be able to find a role in the Cavs defense.
Also, he got that Dawg in him.

I already know who @YOSEMITE_HAM is waiting for lol
-
with the 15th pick, the Charlotte Hornets select:
Mark Williams from Dook University (who lost in the final four to UNC)
7'1" with a 7'7" wingspan and the Hornets started Mason Plumlee at C last year - this should be enough to explain why we're drafting him. He may not necessarily be NBA ready on day 1 but he's likely the most NBA ready big from day 1 that Charlotte is going to have access to by the time the season starts.
-
Duren still available
-
