Promising Young Woman may be one of the best movies I’ve ever seen.
Amazing view into revenge, denial, enableism, patriarchy, and unchecked mental illness.
Btw just go in to this knowing it’s a slice of life of someone who is suffering and the commentary of womens lives is so on point that many may miss it
Highly recommended, it’s on HBO MAX

That’s in my top 5, TS2 was as close to perfect as it can get. It told a story about the inevitability of growing up, something so many kids need to understand. In the end we will outgrow our toys, and that never stops even through adulthood.

I’ve always felt like no movie franchise has deviated further from their first movie like the fast franchise.
The first movie was about an informant trying to figure out who keeps boosting TV DVD combo players and 9 movies later they’re in space.

@petravork I always forget how much of a movie nerd I am compared to normal people lol PYW is old news to me (saw it in theaters) but you're right it's an amazing movie with an awesome lead performance and even Bo Burnham was great in his role

The nuances in this movie, someone really fucking cared to make something real here. From the title, a reference to the Brock Turner rape trial, the judge went soft for his sentencing Bc he was a “promising young man” to most of the music being female pop songs or covers like the violin version of Toxic by brittney spears to how no matter what, in the end women have to give up everything before a man can face Justice. So goddamn well done.
