In what feels like a long time ago, in the midst of the most chaotic time of the most chaotic year, @12th asked me what I thought about breaking away from 2KG and building our own site. I wasn't against it, but I knew what I'd be getting myself into if I said yes, so initially I punted. Fast forward a couple months and multiple chapters in The Saddest Story, and the landscape looked much different.

Again, @12th approached me:

This probably sounds strange to y'all (it even sounds strange in my head while typing), but this site and the community we've built is actually a meaningful part of my life. Between slapping this together over a period of a few months in early 2021, to running it and spending time on it every day afterwards, I've put a ton of hours of my life into this place. That's why I was hesitant to jump into it at first- I knew what I'd end up investing into it and needed to know I wasn't alone. And I wasn't- @QuantumKat @12th @Shinostique @SG24 @RodSquad @OGxSuave have put a shitload of time, money, thinking, writing, modding, posting into this place to make it what it is. Y'all made this place as much as I have.

But my time investment continues: since December, I've been spending most of my free time building the next iteration of this place. Since day 1 I've been completely unsatisfied with the site as it is. It's fine, it works, but it's not mine.

Soon (I mean real soon), 2.0 will be launched, and finally y'all will get what you really deserve, and the beginning of the app that I started to think about a long time ago, even in the Glory Days of what we now know as the Shadow Realm.

So stick around and be ready for things to blow up when 2.0 hits, and for things to continue to blow up long after, because until the day the Shadow Realm's homepage looks like this:
