You guys are like extended family so wanted to share some pics from my big day. The wife and I tied the knot over the weekend!
BOYS AND GIRLS. The time has come.
I feel like MJ in '95 because "IM BACK" with another GOAT review of the GOAT himself.
I must say, 2K impressed me with this card. We all know the story of MJ in My Team over the years. He's never the best card and usually not even a top 10 card. 2K has been more disrespectful towards him than a @Petravork DM to HarryLundt.
As someone who's used every MJ card in every year of My Team, I can comfortably say that this MJ is the best we've had since 2K15 days. The way 2K22 plays, its difficult to score consistently outside of paint mashing. Well they gave this MJ all of the saucy animations to get a bucket anytime he wants.
In this review, i'm gonna switch it up a bit and explain how to use him to the max:
Driving To The Rim: MJ is so fast with the ball and his park dribble sigs make it a breeze to get past the CPU.
Dribble Combos: MJ's Trae Young dribble sigs make him one of the best dribblers in the game if not THE best. Use the BTB and diagonal dribble escape to shift the defender and get good bursts everytime.
Shot on Very Quick: This is the fastest MJ's shot has ever been IIRC. Sometimes it even feels too fast to me, but he can definitely get his shot off and 3-hunt if you want to use him that.
Basically 2K gave us an MJ card that can do it all and that's how it should be. He can be used as a rim runner, 3pt hunter, playmker, post scorer, everything. And his defensive tendencies are through the roof.
I don't know if I can put him ahead of Cedric as best card in the game, but he's #2 on my list. I would say its:
All in all, IF you're an MJ fan or just want to use a park/pro am player in My Team then get him no question. We'll definitely get a GOAT type MJ later in the year with every badge so you can wait for this one to drop in price as well. Honestly with a couple more HOF badges, this MJ can 100% be used until end game.
Been messing around with the post moves this year and it's back boys. You can finally dominate in the post again!
Post fades are super hard to guard because of how the contest system works now. Up and unders are smooth again and don't get blocked by body parts anymore. I even noticed that the shimmy fakes in the post can STUN your defender and put them out of position. Some next level stuff man.
I've been putting in work with Kobe so far and i'm having a blast. It's just so beautiful
Ahh yes, it's that time of the year for my annual Pink Diamond Michael Jordan review. In fact, it came a little earlier than usual this year. Is 2K hurting for money because no one is playing My Team? You got it jack! Nonetheless i'll take an MJ card any day of the week.
The gameplay this year caters to a lot of MJs strengths. If you wanted to, you could legit mash and pump fake in the paint until his arms fell off, and still score a bucket. But our beloved community here at 2KU is above that treachery so we won't stoop to those levels (unless you match up with Fokus XG in qualifiers today).
MJ's fadeaway and overall post game is REALLY good though. His shimmy fakes actually stun the defenders and it doesn't matter if they are on-ball or offball. This allows him to create good space to nail his fades.
His defense top notch. However, they hoed him by not allowing him to hold the pick pocket badge AT ALL. The guy has a 98 onball steal tendency but can barely get plucks because of this troll move by 2K.
Slashing and dunking is another good way to use him. On the fastbreak he can poster pretty easily if you use the dunk meter on next gen.
His dribbling is not particularly great, and he can't speedboost out of certain moves like Kobe or D.Mitch. So I wouldn't recommend using him as a primary ballhandler.
You want to have him as a lock and playing more off the ball/in the post.
All in all, i'm happy with this MJ and having a lot of fun using him in my playstyle. He's definitely NOT worth the price he's going for now. I would only pick him up if you're a huge MJ fan or like playing in the post. The no pick pocket is a huge let down but I will continue bullying these kids in the post until they find a way to stop me.
Yes that's right, my reviews have officially moved over to 2KU! More on that later, but for now let's dive into The Beard.
2K has been releasing some crazy cards lately. These glitched/hero cards are turning normal cards into coked up demigods with patches to their weaknesses. Never in a million years would i think a James Harden card would be a better defender than Gary Payton, but alas, here we are.
The fact that Harden comes with lockdown defense is really just whipcream on top of the perfectly baked pie. You know when you're at the strip club and the 5'2 chick with the pointy tits let's you lick the whipcream off her stomach. No? Anyway, this card gives me the same type of feeling.
Beard just might be the best iso player in the game. His dribble package is elite all around, he has (almost) all elite playmaking badges on HOF, and oh his stepback actually works pretty damn good.
I've had Luka since he came out and i really do prefer Harden. Even though he's 2 inches shorter, his defensive badging makes up for it. He's big enough to slow down Ben Simmons and Lonzo, at the same time shifty enough to cook any guard on offense. I can see myself keeping this card for a while...at least until we get that Opal Magic. Don't be fooled, the Beard may get a lot of buckets on the court but he gets even more bitches off the court. He's worth picking up for that reason alone.
First of all, i have to say that playing defense in this game is TOUGH AF right now.....holy crap. Maybe it's the 99 rated cards, or the fact that everyone has Curry slide or Quick/Shifty dribble style, but it is EXTEREMELY hard to stay in front of the ballhandler now.
That being said, these two cards have been a godsend because of what they can do on defense. Put them to guard the primary ballhandler and annoy the SHIT out of them. I'm running PG13 in my starting five and Jimmy off the bench but im tempted to run both of them together to really see them shut shit down.
PG13 with his length can guard 1-5 easily. Jimmy has the Kawhi stance on defense and he gets some glitchy animations. Once i get Bill, i'll let him handle the bigger guys though. PG and Jimmy do a great job shutting down opposing point guards and 3pt hunters. Until we get an Invincible MJ or a DM Kawhi, I could see these guys being the best perimeter defenders around.
Defense is super bad in this game now lol, but using these guys make it a little more fun and bearable.
Here's the video explaining everything
For those who want the cliff notes:
Try it and let me know if it works for you. I'd actually prefer if this doesn't get out there so I can continue using it without people knowing whats happening lol
Finally got one of my favorite cards every year! KG is one of those cards i always grab even if he's not the best at his position. I'd argue though that this KG is a top 3 bigman especially on next gen.
If he's matched up against lighter guys like Paul George, KD, and even Lebron, he can bully them in the post. Post game sucks this year, but KG has a few moves that give him decent space. I really hate how 2K killed the post game though. Up and unders are super inconsistent now and dropsteps have been nerfed.
But if he's matched up against bigger guys like D.Rob, Jokic, Dirk, he can get around them with his quickness. His dribbles with HOF QFS is no joke. Sometimes i just ISO with him on the perimeter and blaze straight to the rim.
His jumpshot is ok but not the best. It's at least better than his PD. The thing i like about him the most is his speed with and without the ball. On the break he beats all bigs down the court, and can even push it himself if he gets the rebound. It's like having a 6'11 guard out there.
I'm having fun with this KG so far. Just wish he had more HOF post badges and his jumper was a little smoother. All in all, 9.3/10 for me though.
Luka base alone doesnt seem that glitchy unless they have the upper as well. It doesn't seem to get the same uncontestability.
I hope they give more End Game cards Base 49 (RJ and Oscar jumpshot). That's the next best jumpshot IMO @element
Big vouch. Fast and super professional.
