Happy Birthday to our Lord and Savior
The one, the only, the GOAT of all GOATs,
Live footage of @jdealla dunking on TwokeiG
First of all, thank you to all of our Day 1s. We appreciate the support!
As you might have noticed, everyone on the site has a Rep. This Rep score is based on people upvoting (or downvoting) your posts. I have to say, downvoting is extremely rare and it should be. No need to be a hater.
Anyways, you didn't come here to read a 5 paragraph essay... So let's get to it.
Whoever gets to Ruby Rep level first wins 150k MT on their console of choice (PS4, PS5, or XBox). Simple.
How do I increase my Rep?
That's easy. Just stay active and be a force of positivity on 2KU. The upvotes will come. Naturally.
And don't worry if you don't win this race. This is only the beginning and there will be more giveaways, tournaments, and all kinds of stuff to enjoy. Not to mention, you'll earn new badges along the way.
Just to be clear: none of the mods, coaches, or founders are eligible! C'mon now, this is for the community!
Once again, thanks for joining us here at 2KU!
We'll keep this short and simple. No need for a novel.
Instead of just knee-jerk reacting to that extreme behavior, however, the mod team thought it would be best to try to mediate between the parties. To handle everything like rational adults. Unfortunately, those attempts to mediate just didn't work. Trust us. We tried. Ultimately, the line @508 crossed, with attacking someone in real life, was just too big to move forward with.
If anyone attacks another user in real life, we have no choice but to act to try to defuse and mediate. As some of you may have seen in the thread on here, while @508 seemed to apologize, he still said "he stood by his actions." That ain' it.
So anyhow, we are sad to report this news, but we also want to point out that this is a pretty damn high bar for a ban. We don't anticipate having to take such extreme actions in the future. After all, who else would do something this crazy?
As a longtime 2K whale, I think we're entering a new phase of what 2K considers to be a whale.
Starting last year with RNG Reality, 2K seemed to decide that the very best cards should be locked behind ridiculously long grinds. They'd been experimenting with this even back in 2k20, but with 2k21 they really doubled down.
Here we are in 2k22 and what are the best cards? Glenn Robinson (Draft) and Melo (Lvl. 40 XP). Glenn is locked behind an RNG Pay 2 Play Grind. Melo is locked behind a "rent all the expensive cards" Grind. Again, Pay 2 Play.
Meanwhile, 2K keeps dropping Amys that are better than Diamonds or sometimes even better than Pink Diamonds. Can anyone really justify using PD MJ over Amy Harden or Donovan? I can't.
So here we are. What's a whale now when the best cards are behind Pay 2 Play Grinds and Amy cards are often as good or better than cards in higher tiers?
Seems to me a whale is someone who pays grinders. Yes, it's been going in this direction for a while now, but I think it's official. A 2K Whale is someone who pays SOMEONE ELSE to play 2K for them. Buying VC or loads of MT is insufficient. 2K will always make sure that there's at least 1 or 2 cards locked behind "player engagement" that is better than basically every card in the AH.
Don't believe me? Go check Melo and his badges. Is there anyone or anything close to this? Go look at Glenn...
2K wants us to not only spend thousands of dollars, but spend thousands of hours playing their game. Spending money on VC and MT is no longer a clear cut way to "save time" and avoid ridiculous NMS style grinding.
Some may say this is a way to level the playing field, but they're wrong. Getting Glenn costs money. Getting Melo costs money because most of the XP is tied to using the most expensive cards.
Conclusion: 2K wants everything now. They want all your money AND all your time. There are really no shortcuts. We've hit a new low.
You may be wondering why there's so much hype building for MLB The Show.
If you're curious about it and want an example of why so many of us play it and why so many new people are looking to dive in, I'll provide one.
Maybe you're not really into baseball. I get it. I've always preferred basketball, though I do keep up with baseball.
That said, you've probably heard of someone called BABE RUTH.
Yeah? You have? Good.
Now, imagine you could play a AAA Sports Game like 2K, but we're talking baseball here, and you could get a 99 OVR Babe Ruth card for free?
Sound too good to be true?
It's not... Check this out:
Yeah that's right. Everyone who completed the Babe Ruth program in MLB The Show 20 got this card for FREE. Sure, it took some time to get him, but EVERYONE who went through the program got him guaranteed. One of the most famous, arguably THE most famous baseball player of ALL-TIME.
Just for grinding...
How much grinding? Less than 8 hours in total.
DON'T MISS OUT. MLB THE SHOW - COMING SOON! (FREE ON GAMEPASS...!)
Be there or be square. 1st Week of June.
Shout-out to @adobo for the flyer!

Oh shit.... Words cannot express my gratitude. This is incredibly heartwarming. Thanks a million times!
I am so grateful to be a part of this community. We didn't know what would happen when we launched 2KU. We all hoped for the best and this has exceeded my expectations. In the space of a year we made 2KG look like an abandoned trap house and the U is poppin like Popeye's when they launched their chicken sandwiches.
The list of people to thank for the success of the U is a mile long. All the Day 1s know who they are. Thanks again.
I just want to say an extra special thanks to @RodSquad for being a great friend and for sharing his undeniably top tier writing talents with us. Invincible and Rockstars have brought so much fun and life to the site. It's a massive honor (and unexpected!) to close out Invincible.
Things are just getting started here. We've got a lot more to come. And that means more giveaways!
that 73-9 team was NOT a super team though! That shit was built from the ground up lol!! I hate that niggas try to paint that narrative. Nobody was considering them a super team UNTIL they won.
Shades of that this year too when Wiggins started cooking. It's hilarious.
