Being at home for 1 1/2 years because of COVID has been a pretty tough journey for me personally. The lack of having the same social life with friends, family, and other close ones has been difficult and burdensome on my life. Usually, I go on a trip to India every year to be w/ my family and cousins but that hasn’t happened because of COVID and rising cases around the world. I haven’t been able to regularly see my friends/meet them as well because of virtual classes and everything being online which sucks. I couldn’t even take a trip to go to regular sporting events (Bucks/Packers).
I found out about 2KG last year in June which was a helpful distraction from what was going on in my life at the time. A lot of the people on 2KU right now were the people who made me happy and gave me a break to have fun and laugh reading through multiple posts about 2k and whatever else.
I’ve been on my computer a lot recently trying to get multiple projects/work finished which has created a mental struggle so I regularly exercise to release myself from what I’ve been doing and to work on my mental health (biking, walking, running).
In this COVID time I have lost loved ones who I didn’t get to see again because of not being able to travel to India. Recently, my grandma passed away (not from COVID but cancer) and my parents and I could not see her because of this barrier of not being able to meet our loved ones across the world. Living in the U.S. has been challenging because of not being able to see almost all my uncles, aunts, grandparents, and cousins but I understand that there’s no other way to change it in my life.
Everyone on this site is the best. This site and community has been really important to me during this time because of my ability to just scroll through a forum and sometimes have a laugh or just discuss about anything. I see all of you as family and real friends even if we’re only chatting/responding to one another virtually. #2KUForever
Joining a forum with these guys at first and coming over to 2KU was one of the best decisions of my life. I’ll always have the back of all the people who were supportive from the beginning.
