Coming into sophomore year and looking at a good chance to be starting point guard and have a big role on the varsity team.
Transitioning from more of a forward type player to a guard, so I need help on a bunch of things.
First off I need advice for the weight room on what I should be focusing on. My upper body strength is just not really there even though I can bench a decent amount and work on it a lot. I got very strong legs but I don't got too much bounce so lifts or exercise for that helps. Also I need some though conditioning things. Mostly I have just been doing sprints/suicides and running like 2 miles.
For basketball I definitely need to improve my handle so I'm more comfortable with someone on my ass all game. Especially the weak hand, need a lot of work on that for ball handling and finishing. Pretty good finisher but footwork and finishing drills will still help. Great shooter for the most part except if I get in my own head but I'm working on that. I need help with my shot creation though. Need more moves for 1 on 1 situations or for the fast break. I'm a great defender but might need a little help on it because I'll be going from guarding bigger guys to guards. So any drills help.
Any drills or advice that you think will help me, just drop it below. Be honest with me and give me really tough drills. I'm practicing all summer all day. I'm a skilled player so give stuff that'll help me.
